“GREEN” PAPER

Introduction

Project supported by:

  • Rt Hon Mark Drakeford MS – Cardiff East
  • Bangor University Head of Materials Research

Purpose of project:

  • Produce paper using readily available, abundant and cheap raw materials
  • Innovative process without chopping down trees and not harmful to the planet

Our simple process will extract the cellulose from this material to make paper.

Using this procedure will help sustain and protect:

  • Trees, preventing deforestation
  • Natural habitat and ecological diversity of countless species
  • Earth’s Eco system
  • Global warming and the Ozone layer
  • Wild birds, animal and Insects
  • Rivers and fresh waterways
  • Fresh water fish
  • Air pollution caused by using heavy machinery & equipment to cut down trees and processing

Gains From This Project

The Planet

Fewer trees will be cut down creating a beautiful knock on effect.

Local Governments

Since there is no heavy duty procedures required with this method, pulping stations can be put up anywhere in inner cities. So they will get a boost in their economy from manufacturing the paper and hence sales.

Manufacturers

They would have to do less work to achieve the same goal hence saving them money, time and effort.

Customers

Happier customers knowing that the paper that they are using is “green” hence not harming the planet but also will be cheaper because it would cost the manufacturer less to produce, hence they will be able to sell it cheaper.

Local People

Many job opportunities made available for local people ranging from high skill to low skill, to no skill vacancies, hence boosting the local economy.

Conclusion

This project will put Britain at the forefront of innovative ideas/inventions as there will be many gains and benefits (both directly and as a knock on effect) in many areas such as:

  • People
  • Animals
  • Environments
  • Business
  • Local/national councils and governments, etc.

Therefore this one project, will by itself impact immensely on many detrimental issues facing global communities and the planet by helping to tackle some of these issues.
